Budding Photographer
I’ve owned a DSLR camera now for about three years, a Canon Rebel Xsi to be exact. For the most part I have used all the auto modes to take my photos since the manual settings were a mystery to me. I decided it was high time I learned a little more about how to use my camera, so I signed up for an eight-week photography class through the Peoria Parks and Recreation programs. The first thing the instructor made us do was to put our cameras in the “Program” mode, and as scary as that was, under no circumstances were we to resort to using the auto settings. Each week we were given homework assignments that helped us to understand depth of field, aperture, lighting and composition. Here are a few of my favorite photos from those assignments.

October 3, 2013Hi Martha:
Just looking at your new website and got distracted off to the “budding photographer” blog.
Nice stuff and made me smile because I don’t know what any of those auto modes on my cameras do!
Okay back to the purpose checking out your new site… I like it so far.
Hope it brings wonderful new clients and pleases the existing ones!
Thinking of tearing mine down and putting up 2013 work only… updating is the hardest thing to do especially while busy!
Good day- Randall
