We were first called on to design a brochure that would serve a dual purpose: to introduce the newly formed Mary Lou Fulton Institute and Graduate School of Education and also highlight the college’s professors who had received the American Educational Research Association (AERA) awards. Photos and bios of the award recipients was woven into a message of the goals and mission of the new Institute. The success of the introductory brochure lead to designing the Institute’s first ever Dean’s Report.
The 58-page report featured a mix of stories and visuals that were arranged into different schools of thought – research, discover, innovate and collaborate – and emphasized various challenges the institution was facing in its future. A heavy, textured stock was printed using a combination of foil stamping and metallic inks gave the piece a rich look and feel. Bold type and a clean page design followed the university’s new brand standards. These were the first pieces throughout the university that utilized the New American University brand.
