Small Enough to Care; Big Enough to Get the Job Done
At Clark Creative, we make it easy for you to tell your story, communicate your idea or sell your product. As a graphic design boutique, our size means you get personal attention. That means you work directly with the firm’s principal, Martha Clark. And best of all, we’re flexible. We can work any way you choose, either as your marketing department or collaboratively with the one you have.
A Boutique with a Team Approach
Sometimes it takes a village to create a campaign, integrate different tactics and communicate your message. That’s why over the years we’ve built a network of professional alliances with creative partners like marketing consultants, writers, public relations professionals, media buyers, web developers, printers, and more. With just one call to us we can provide an array of services with our army of communications professionals at your disposal.
If you are looking for solutions that go beyond design, you can count on us having a capable creative team ready and waiting…all while enjoying the intimacy of working with a small firm.
Designing for Beauty and Function
We work with the philosophy that design, first, must be captivating and engaging. Good design reflects the personality and style of your business. It communicates without words. Second, while beauty counts, design has a job to do. It must do the work of selling your message, your brand image and your company.
Whether you’re tackling a small problem or trying to relay a big idea, in the end, you get a meaningful, memorable communications product; one that fits your unique needs and most importantly, gets the job done!
It starts with some pretty simple ideas, ones we live by.
Beyond employing a thorough process of discovery, design and implementation, we have a code of practice that helps us foster sound working relationships.
We Are Excellent Collaborators. We truly believe the best results come from a team approach and we are team players.
We Listen. We Learn. Listening is an art form few have mastered and even fewer practice. We apply effective listening. We want to know who you are, what you are about and what you want to become.
We Treat Others the Way We Want to Be Treated. Yep, the Golden Rule, but it works.
Passion. As a principal-owned company, we are passionate about success. That enthusiasm translates directly to you and your project.
Commitment. Whether it is to a client, a project, a direction, a deadline, or a budget, when we sign on, you get our full dedication to satisfy all your expectations.
Long-Term Relationships. We’ve helped some clients for years. Others return periodically to solve particular communications challenges. Either way, our creativity and humanistic approach encourage relationships.
We Want to Have Fun. We expect to have fun with our clients. Fun drives creativity and excitement—both of which influence the total experience and end product.
We thrive on diversity; in other words, our stuff
doesn’t all look the same.
We don’t have an area of specialization and we don’t want one. We’ve gained valuable experience working with a variety of clients from various industries including education, business and financial services, healthcare, real estate development, technology and non-profit.
People get the message through images. Product branding, corporate imaging, collateral materials; we’ve done it all. But no project is a rehash of the last. Yours is an exciting discovery and a new challenge.
We focus our talents on visual branding including corporate identity, print and digital marketing collateral, publications, website design, trade show displays and product packaging. We can, either through direct resources or our professional alliances, play a lead or supportive role in your overall marketing communications strategy.
Bottom line, we’re flexible, we’re focused, and we’re connected.
Think of me as your creative confidante.
I’m Martha Clark, founder and creative director of Clark Creative. I have a deep and genuine desire to produce for my clients the most attention-grabbing, engaging communications tools that convey their message and brand. I’m lucky because I’ve been able to do just that my entire career. I’ve spent over twenty-five years working with clients in a broad range of industries from local universities and non-profits to national firms.
It’s the excitement and challenge in the process of visual branding that gets me up in the morning. I have a diverse skill set but my passion lies is in identity design, any and all types of print and digital collateral, publication design, trade show displays, and website design. My tools of choice are the Adobe Creative Suite products and the good old fashioned pencil and sketch pad. And I’m becoming very fond of a little thing called WordPress. (ask me about that.)
I love getting to know my clients too. They become partners and friends. I listen intently to what they want and what they need, and before I’ve left the room, the wheels are turning and I’m envisioning their solutions.
A little more about me….if you’re interested.
I started on the path to becoming a designer in Wheaton, Illinois when I was twelve. I created a trifold pamphlet on the dangers of smoking that I distributed to neighbors on my block. While I don’t remember if I was successful in getting anyone to quit smoking, my mother talks about it to this day.
After a little detour in my early college years, when I thought maybe I wanted to be an architect, I eventually received my B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Arizona State University. I still have a curiosity for creating interior spaces and I have to admit, I’m am a bit of an HGTV addict.
I reside in Arizona with my wonderful husband and a crazy parrot. In my spare time you’ll most likely find me on the golf course. I secretly like to pretend I’m a photographer.
Drop me a note martha@clarkcreative.net. I would love to hear from you.

We don’t like to toot our horn, but our clients have said
some really nice things.
Kathy Heasley, Founder/President, IMS
Working with Clark Creative is always a tremendous experience. Not only because they listen, seek to understand needs, and are extremely talented. There are a few other companies that fall in that category. To me it’s because I can always count on them to deliver choices, alternatives, options and not sell “their solution.” That’s important, but unfortunately outside the realms of many graphic designers who often have one defining style. Clark Creative’s work is different with every client, and it’s always on target.
Steve Des Georges, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Arizona State University
Clark Creative is one of our greatest resources at ASU’s West campus. From design work to creative input, and from campaign strategies to on-time delivery, Clark Creative has surpassed our exacting expectations and continues to deliver a high-quality, best-in-class product each and every time. It is difficult to put into words the value of Clark Creative’s services, expertise and professionalism, but it is obvious what it has meant to our efforts to promote the university and its West campus. A most sincere thanks to Martha Clark and her team.
Julie Howard, Marketing Director, Harvest Meat Company
Clark Creative is always the place I call on for our graphic design needs. Whether I need a corporate brochure or a logo design, Martha Clark has always exceeded my expectations. She listens well to our needs and takes the time to offer creative suggestions that we do not have the time nor expertise to conjure up. I have worked with a lot of “creative” people and Martha is professional, organized, reliable and very creative. That combination is not easy to find. Those qualities make her very easy to work with and we always get top notch graphic design.
Steve Alexander, Vice President, Alexander Homes
I wanted to personally thank you for the wonderful brochure work you have completed for Alexander Homes. We are extremely happy with the way you coordinated theme, layouts and colors on all our marketing materials and signage to create a consistent message with which to build our company brand. The quality of all the creative work and photography is exceptional. Every meeting you had with us and every task you performed was on time and exceeded our expectations! Thanks for a job well done!
Karen Harbin, Media Specialist, Arizona State University
Thank you for all the creativity and professionalism you have shared with Arizona State University these many years. The breadth of you creative “range” has extended from designing a unique, fun and interesting collateral campaign for high school students… to our current projects with the School of Global Management & Leadership that target top business professionals around the world. Your attention to detail is what sets your designs apart from others, and makes my job easier. So thank you for being a partner in reaching new heights as we continue to build the image and brand of ASU and SGML. Business@SGML and the SGML Annual Report have received favorable recognition across the university, including from ASU President Michael Crow, which is not always easy to attain.
Debbi Gardiner McCullough, Freelance Writer, Green Hills Media, LLC.
I crossed paths with Clark Creative while working together on the bi-annual alumni magazines put out by the School of Global Management and Leadership at ASU. I was delighted seeing my writing being presented so beautifully and with such innovative, edgy designs. Martha Clark is terrific to work with; charming, fun and talented too.
